I also really like the actress Meryl Streep. She has been acting for a long time and she has won many Oscars. She is amazing because she is so versatile and she has done many classic and comedy roles. She is also very good at learning accents. Her famous films include The Devil Wears Prada, Out of Africa, The Bridges of Madison County and The French Lieutenant's Woman. Recently she was also in Mamma Mia.

Last week we read about Orlando Bloom, who is a British actor, so I thought I would write about my favourite actor on this blog.
My favourite actor is Colin Firth. He is British and I think he's in his late 40s. He often plays roles where he is a serious man who has problems in relationships because he is maybe nervous of women and doesn't know what to say to them! One example of this is Bridget Jones' Diary. The first time I saw him act was in the BBC drama series called Pride and Prejudice which is a film version of a classic book. He played a character called Mr Darcy who was very arrogant, but a good person at heart. Sometimes he plays in comedy films, too, like Love Actually, and he was even in the musical Mamma Mia recently.

I have always been interested in sports. When I lived in the UK I used to watch lots of sport on TV.
When I was at school I also played a lot of sports and was in the school team for hockey, netball and swimming. Now, I often go swimming and I sometimes go to the gym - but I think the gym is boring. I like going for walks on the Corniche. I love watching athletics on TV and I try to go to the Dubai Tennis Championships every year. I must do more exercise and try to get fitter. In the future I would like to try deep sea diving and other kinds of water sports.

What do I do in my free time?
I'm usually quite tired after work, so I like to relax in the evenings. I often just stay at home and watch TV or DVDs, read books and magazines, surf the net or do some handicrafts. Sometimes I go out for dinner or coffee with my friends, go to the cinema or to an event like a concert. Some evenings I go for a walk on the Corniche or walk to a shopping centre. It's a bit difficult to go out in the evenings because I can't park my car and I have to wait a long time for a taxi. Also, I worry about getting up early for work the next day!
At weekends, I like to get up late. I often go to visit my friends in other Emirates or go shopping in Dubai. I am also a member of a teaching organisation so I sometimes organise workshops for teachers on Saturdays.
I don't do much exercise, but I enjoy swimming - and this year I am going to try and go to the gym to get fitter.
